Responses when asked:
"Do you feel that your experiences have changed the way
you deal with situations at work? School? family? neighbors?
strangers?"
From Terrie Todd ~ "I
always think about how Fijians handle situations with such
simplicity, one day at a time. I would like to apply their
calmness to my lifestyle. I sure I would be less stressed."
From Teina
Tallarigo ~ "It
made me think how we are all connected and are one, and to
not get upset over little trivial things. To help other people,
most of all!"
From Laura
Ouellette ~ "I
am more content with the amount of stuff I have or don't have."
From Jessica
Martin ~ "I
most definitely believe that it changed the way I view people
and situations. I have the advantage of being able to take
a step back and look at the whole picture over and over again.
Where as other people seem to be so caught up and involved
in things that just don't hold any value to their lives. I
don't worry about a lot of things I used to, which makes more
time to better myself, (and) at the same time try to help
other people see the way I do."
Responses when asked:
"What would you say to someone else who may be considering
participating in an overseas study tour like the one you went
on to Fiji?"
From Terrie Todd ~ "It
is the experience of a lifetime. Truely an adventure...not
a boring moment."
From Laura Ouellete ~ "Go!"
From Teina Tallarigo ~ "...Let
go ...sometimes by letting go of our beliefs, we open up to
ourselves and others."
From Jessica
Martin ~ "If
I had the chance to persuade anyone, I would. I would tell
them that being somewhere in the world that is totally unlike
your own is where you find who you really are."
