ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Francine Houston
I titled it "The Story of My Life" because
I wrote a poem about what happen in my life. One of the most devastating
things that happen were I was diagnosed with a life threatening
disease called Lupus. Lupus is an autoimmune disease, which is not
contagious. It makes your body attack itself. Anyway I showed the
effects of the Lupus by showing pictures from the age seventeen
to twenty-one. But also in the poem I wrote how I got healed from
it too. The pictures show the phases of Lupus and the phases of
healing. I also have music notes, tambourines, and an open bible.
The music notes represented that I like music and like to sing.
The tambourines represent that I like to dance. The open bible represents
that IÕm spiritual and I like to go to church.
