ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Laura Ouellette

The two pieces are self portraits. The first one represents my present life and the things that are most important to me: my relationship with my creator and savior, and my joy in worshiping him. Next, my husband, our children, and my love of Israel and its history. The jar of anointing oil was found as a result of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

My second piece represents my future, where I will live with God in heaven forever, where there will be no more tears or pain, “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away,” Revelation 21:1-4. “And the lion and the lamb shall lay down together,” Isaiah 11:6… “the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.”
