ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Louise Parham

In no way do I consider myself an Artist. However, I do consider myself a work of art. The one that created me is the true artist. No way in my lifetime could I have thought up a character like me. Medium: Skin, hair, bones, limbs, nervous system, moody, you get the point. I can go on. It’s endless.

I have created my piece using computer digital tools, pictures dear to me taken with an automatic camera, pencil drawing, glue sticks, and clear Avery labels sheets. All these mediums used demonstrate my transition through time travel.

I really have enjoyed getting my fingers dirty, while trying out studio art in previous work. I’ve also enjoyed toying with the Mackintosh Computer (which was so alien to me that it at first gave me goose bumps to go near it), but now we have become friends. I have a joy of life and its many discoveries, sometimes, happy, and many times sadden. My resolution is to live life to the fullest and do the best that I can. We only live once, so make it good. I share my life with family, friends, and I also invite new cultures to share it with me. So I open my arms wide to embrace all the new possibilities that life brings along with it.
