Ban on Fiji imposed by Australia and International Unions (11 pm)

In Australia, where the union movement is backing the campaign by Fiji's unions, the Australian Trade Unions Fiji Crisis Committee heard update reports on the effectiveness of the bans on Fiji being imposed by Australian and international unions.

The Australian unions heard that all their bans are now in place and holding. The ship, Direct Kookaburra, arrived in Sydney from Fiji today andunloaded 30 to 40 boxes which have been stockpiled. The ship will leave Sydney to come back to Fiji with nothing on board.

In Melbourne, the Kapitan Tasman will arrive on Monday. Again, the cargo will be unloaded but stockpiled on the docks.

Man shot (10 pm)

A 26 year old man is admitted at the CWM Hospital after he was shot twice outside the parliament complex earlier tonight. We have confirmed that the man was shot on his right leg and right forearm.

The man was shot while he was stoning homes along Vuya Road. A doctor says the man is in stable condition.

Meanwhile the Police National Command Centre says some people from inside the parliament complex came out and allegedly stoned some homes along Vuya Road. The Command Centre says when the army patrol arrived, the people tried to go back into the parliament complex but the gates were closed.

However lights were turned off and these people were let in. However Director Police Operations, ASP Romanu Tikotikoca confirms a man was shot outside the parliament complex and is in hospital. The Criminal Investigation Department officers are currently at the CWM Hospital.

Speight's group received threatening call. (8 pm)

All the lights at the parliament complex were turned off about 20 minutes ago after attempted coup leader, George Speight's group apparently received a threatening call.

Our reporter at parliament, Tukini Cama says Speight's men have fired five shots in the air just to check whether there were some people trying to get in.

However the lights have been turned on again.

We believe there is a mob outside the parliament gates as I speak and they are throwing stones inside the parliament complex.

The military headquarters in Nabua says a group of soldiers are currently at the scene.
