THE Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral hosted a twelve hour vigil which
began at 7am yesterday.
Age was no barrier as little children and the aged took part in the vigil
organised by the Women's Action for Democracy and Peace.
Those that attended were either praying silently or reading from the Bible,
yet for others the vigil was a way to get in touch with their emotions as
the hostage crisis entered it's 37th day.
During the vigil, a sense of comfort could be felt in the cathedral amongst
the hostages' family members as spiritual meditation became the best
answer for them.
Coordinating secretary Sharon Bhagwan Rolls said the 12 hour vigil was
to give special emphasis to the hostages ensuring they are not forgotten
amidst all the media hype.
Ms Rolls said the vigil and Women in Community in Action has brought
together men, women and children.
