| About the Flint North Central COPC | |
HUD’s Office of University Partnerships awards grants to colleges and universities to help them establish outreach centers that tackle urban issues within the surrounding community. Mott Community College was awarded nearly $400,000 to create a Community Outreach Partnership Center (COPC) in the North Central neighborhood (hyperlink to map of COPC area_2.doc) of Flint. The Center will unite both college and community resources to revitalize the community and specifically address local issues related to at least one of the following focus areas: This program is only possible through the cooperation and collaboration
between college faculty and community leaders and organizations. For this
reason, a Community
Advisory Committee (CAC) was created from a representative group of
community members, including individuals from partner organizations, block
clubs, and faith-based organizations. |
