Kutie Catcher ~ Entoptic Visions and the cycles of life.

The childhood game made of folded paper affectionately called the "Kutie Catcher" was often used to provide the challenges of "truth or dare" or foretell the future. This project uses the folded paper as a "book object" to visually explore the stages that are an inevitable fact of life. The visuals play upon rhythm and shape, positive and negative space, typography and line to emote a non-verbal message to the "players" of the game of life. These designs are also reflective of the so-called entoptic visions associated with altered states of consciousness, whether by trauma, meditation, or chemical inducement and are tied to the dawn of pre-historic man's artistic expression.
